“Chiro 101”: The Activator Technique

We wholeheartedly believe in educating and informing our patients about what to expect at a chiropractic appointment.  Not every patient will receive the same treatment nor will we utilize the same techniques on everyone; however, it’s wise to be as informed as possible on the different types of chiropractic techniques.  And it makes your appointments less stressful…everything’s less stressful when there’s less of the unknown, right?

One technique in particular, the Activator technique, utilizes research in the fields of orthopedics, neurology, and chiropractic. It involves the use of instruments during adjustments and treats joint problems of the spine and the extremities.

What are the benefits?

-gentle & safe

-quick & effective (because of the nature of this technique, muscles don’t have time to resist which means the adjustment is more accurate and precise)

Who is the ideal patient for this type of treatment?

-those with a delicate spine (post surgery, injury, pregnant, osteoporosis, etc)

-someone who would prefer to avoid the “noise” that accompanies a regular adjustment

For more information about the Activator technique or to see if could be an option for you, please feel free to contact us.
